False Bay Live Weather
False Bay is more sheltered and typically offers warmer waters, averaging 14–20°C, especially in winter when the north-westerly winds prevail. Winter is the prime season here, with calmer seas and improved visibility. During summer, the bay can turn murky as the south-easter stirs up sediment, making the Atlantic side the preferred option. By reading the wind, divers can choose wisely: a strong south-easter usually means clearer diving on the Atlantic side, while a north-wester points to better diving conditions inside False Bay.

Atlantic Live Weather
The Atlantic side offers clear, crisp waters, often with exceptional visibility in the summer months when the prevailing south-easterly winds push surface water offshore, drawing up colder but cleaner water. Expect temperatures ranging between 8–14°C, so thicker exposure protection is essential. While conditions can be stunningly clear, strong south-easters can make surface entries challenging. When these winds blow, the Atlantic generally clears, making it the better choice compared to False Bay.
