Reaching new depths or extending your breath-hold is more than just a physical achievement — it’s a deeply personal milestone. The PADI Advanced Freediver Course is designed for certified freedivers who want to refine technique, build mental focus, and better understand the body’s performance during apnea.
This course offers a progressive, supportive environment to improve your freediving skills at your own pace, while gaining the tools and techniques to go deeper, stay down longer, and dive more safely.
You can enrol in the PADI Advanced Freediver course if you:
- Are 15 years or older
- Hold a PADI Freediver certification or an equivalent from another recognized organization
- Have completed Emergency First Response (CPR & First Aid) training within the past 24 months (recommended)
The course is divided into three structured components:
- Knowledge Development
- Advanced freediving theory
- Breathing techniques, equalization, equipment, and safety
- Delivered through PADI Freediver eLearning or instructor-led classes
- Confined Water Training
- Stretching, relaxation, and breath-up techniques
- Static apnea goal: 2 min 30 sec (2 min for those under 18)
- Dynamic apnea goal: 50 m (40 m for those under 18)apnea
- Open Water Sessions
- Deeper free immersion and constant weight dives
- Enhanced rescue skills and buddy protocols
- Constant weight dive goal: 20 m (15 m for those under 18)
- Access to PADI Advanced Freediver eLearning
- Instructor-led confined and open water training sessions
- Use of freediving equipment (if needed)
- Certification as a PADI Advanced Freediver
